The Essential Theatre is Hiring a Development Associate Near Washington, DC

Seeking Development Associate

Response Deadline September 15, 2022

The Essential Theatre, a non-profit, professional theatre company in Washington, DC is currently seeking a Development Manager. The hybrid position is a consultant position allowing most work to be performed virtually. Because of the nature of this position, all applicants must be local to the Washington, DC region.

· Position hourly

· Payment commensurate with experience

· Reports to Artistic Director

The Development Associate will support the development activities of The Essential Theatre related to individual contributions on a per project basis and will provide support to overarching development activities of the company as assigned.

Potential candidates should be familiar with and have:

At least two (2) to three (3) years of proven experience specific to individual fundraising

Handling associated amenities and stewardship duties.

· Must have effective oral and written communication skills.

· A two-or four-year college degree specific to the field or a related field equivalent to Arts Management or Human Services.

  • Must be computer literate with specific focus on Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, and considerable experience with social media platforms and fundraising software tools.

Interested candidates should submit resume along with writing samples and current contact information for at least three professional references to include, name, contact phone number, email address and your relationship to each reference.
